Marketing trends: is e-mail marketing dead in 2025…?

E-mail marketing is dead and buried. Or… is it? Absolutely not. In fact, it’s just the opposite: e-mail marketing is now more important than ever!

These days consumers have literally billions of options when it comes to buying new mountain gear, getting a sport massage or hiring a mountain guide. A newsletter is one of the best ways to grow a loyal customer base and offer more value than your competitors.

E-mail marketing (=newsletters) remains as one of the most efficient ways to grow a loyal customer base in 2025.

A regular newsletter will help you build a trusted brand and stand out with authentic content. People out there are now more sceptical than ever, because of businesses abusing AI and scamming unaware consumers. Use the newsletter to lead your customers through that messy decision making process and buy from you instead of your rivals.

Your subscribers are the clients, who buy from you over and over again. They don’t just consume your services – they’re loyal to you and your brand.

As a business owner a newsletter shound definitely be a significant part of your marketing strategy, if you’re looking to keep the money flowing in month after month. Newsletters will help you connect with your clients regularly, even if you don’t see them every day or week. They’re a great opportunity for you to provide more value to your clients by sharing some golden nuggets to them in private.

And by the way, I’m not alone with my opinion. Marketing gurus, such as Alex Cattoni (marketer if the year in 2022 and the founder of Copy Posse), are still voting for e-mail marketing and newsletters.

Check out this video by Alex about the future of online marketing in 2025. In case you don’t have the time to watch the full video right now, here’s one of her main statements:

“E-mail marketing remains as the most effective way to sell online (in 2025).”

However, writing a good newsletter can be tricky…

These days our mailboxes are flooded with junk mail and no one wants to get more of it.

EACH NEWSLETTER SHOULD BE PACKED WITH VALUE. Otherwise A) it’s difficult to get new subscribers and B) even harder to keep the existing ones…

Think of your newsletter subscribers as a VIP club – and make them love being in the club. Make them feel like it’s truly a privilidge.

Share your golden nuggets in a newsletter and create more value to your customers.

5 simple tips for writing your first newsletter:

Newsletters are essential for marketing, but how to write one? Where to start…?

Many business owners are still handling marketing by themselves – newsletters included. I get it. Investing in hiring a marketing professional can feel like too much in the very beginning.

If you can’t imagine investing any money in marketing at the moment, here are 5 simple tips to write your first newsletter:

  1. Ask AI to come up with some suggestions for topics. While AI (such as Google Gemini or Chat GPT) still can’t be used to create high-value content with a single click, the bots are your friend when it comes to brain storming.
  2. Keep it short. Let’s face it: these days most of us don’t have time to read long stories. A short newsletter is guaranteed to have more impact, because… well, at least people read it through.
  3. Focus on 1 thing at a time. Adding more than one topic to a single newsletter will make it cluttered. Each added topic will decrease the impact of the others and draw away attention from the main message.
  4. Don’t be afraid to use CAPITAL LETTERS. Capital letters and bold text demand attention.
  5. Add lists. Lists are one of the best ways to break the text into smaller sections. By dividing the newsletter into smaller bite-sized blocks you’ll make it more interesting to read. You’ll need to fight to keep your readers focused and lists are your friend in that battle!

While writing a newsletter is not rocket science, at some point you’ll want to outsource e-mail marketing for sure. After all, don’t you want to focus on your expertise and passion…?
