We at Gaissa Media just love eco-friendly cimbing gear. One of our all time favourites is a true classic: Mammut We Care climbing rope.
First things first. What exactly makes Mammut We Care climbing rope eco-friendly?
In one word: the sheath. The sheath of Mammut We Care climbing rope is made of recycled yarn – “leftovers”. This doesn’t affect the rope’s technical performance in any way, but definitely makes it more sustainable.
In addition Mammut We Care has proven to be extremely durable. It seems to handle heavy use for quite a while before giving in.

I purchased my Mammut We Care several years ago and eventually managed to “kill” it by projecting. Dozens of falls at the same bolt wore out the sheath and I was forced to cut the rope ends over and over again.
Rest of the rope is actually still fine (although very short) – perhaps it can be used for relaxed gym sessions?

However, eco-friendliness isn’t the only reason why Mammut We Care Classic is such a good choise for your next sport climbing rope. It also performs well. With a diameter of 9.5 mm it doesn’t glide through the GriGri, but it’s still quite nice to handle too.
As a cherry on top, Mammut We Care comes in a billion different colors. The color of the rope is always random due to the manufacturing process, but that’s what makes them so special. Mine used to be exactly the color of pink granite when it was new.
In a nutshell: Mammut We Care climbing rope is both sustainable and great value for money. If you’re searching for an affordable and eco-friendly everyday climbing rope, look no more!
